Tasting Note eRobert Parker (WA) : 90/100 (2014) Neal Martin The 2014 Pouilly-Fuissé Alliance Vieilles Vignes has impressive intensity on the nose, a little more honeyed than its peers, perhaps a touch more tropically inclined and yet it retains admirable delineation. The palate is very well balanced with crisp green apple, fresh pear and apricot on the entry. Beautifully balanced and complex, it just sashays across the mouth and delivers a wonderfully intense, mineral-driven finish. I would have just liked a little more reserve and mineralité on the nose but let's see how this develops in bottle. Burghound (BH) : 90/100 (2013) Allen Meadows A shy but not mute nose offers up notes of mildly exotic pear and apple scents. The middle weight flavors are quite round and solidly concentrated as the abundant dry extract imparts a sappy, even suave mouth feel to the citrusy finish where a touch of wood surfaces. This should benefit from 4 to 6 years of cellar time yet be approachable young if desired. Burghound (BH) : 91/100 (2014) Allen Meadows A restrained and cool if slightly reduced nose reluctantly offers up notes of citrus zest, white orchard fruit and subtle spice nuances. The textured medium-bodied flavors are finer than those of the Les Pommards with excellent persistence and depth. Once again this is good stuff and worth your attention. Wine Spectator (WS) : 86/100 (2013) Rich, with butterscotch, apple tart and earth flavors. Finishes with a hint of grapefruit peel. Drink now through 2018. –BS
