Tasting Note Robert Parker RP 90-93/100 - released on 31st Oct 2011 The 2010 Chateauneuf du Pape Cuvee Prestige is made from all 13 authorized red varietals as well as the oldest vines, and is partially aged in small new oak casks. It possesses a dense purple color along with a sweet perfume of black currants, licorice, pepper, lead pencil shavings and pen ink. Intense and full, it should prove to be powerful, rich and long-lived, lasting 15 or more years. Robert Parker RP 91/100 - Released on 31st Oct 2012 The 2010s can be drunk now or cellared for a decade. Both cuvees possess more intensity and richness than their 2011 counterparts. One of the finest wines Chateau Cabrieres has made over recent vintages is the 2010 Chateauneuf du Pape Cuvee Prestige. It possesses plenty of sweet black currant, cherry and raspberry fruit intertwined with dusty, loamy soil, pepper and lavender notes. This classic wine of Provence is full-bodied, deep, rich, pure and authoritative. Drink it over the next 10-12 years. WS 88/100 A note of bread dough hangs over this version, featuring a core of crushed plum, melted black licorice and fruit cake sitting in reserve. A touch chewy in the end, with stubborn toast holding sway. This should be showing more drive and depth considering the vintage. Jancis Robinson 17/20 - Vintage 2010 - When to drink: 2018 to 2028 Mid crimson. Vigorous, intense, well-balanced perfume. Lots of sweetness and only a medium charge of tannins. Relatively juicy and with real impact. Though I might not guess it was a special cuvée blind.
