Tasting Note | eRobert Parker / WA : 90-92/100 Neal Martin The 2013 Corton Clos du Roi Grand Cru, the vines next to those belonging to the Hospices, is more austere on the nose than the Corton Bressandes with raspberry preserve and hints of wild strawberry. The palate is medium-bodied with supple tannins, a little grainy in texture, quite refined and feminine, even if it does not quite possess the persistence of a more benevolent vintage. Drink over the next decade. Burghound (BH) : 92/100 Allen Meadows Here too there is just enough wood to warrant noting though it is sufficiently subtle that the expressive aromas of earth, game, smoke, forest floor and dark berry fruit aromas have no trouble being appreciated. There is excellent size, weight and power to the full-bodied flavors that possess excellent punch and ample minerality on the balanced, complex and solidly persistent finish. Note that this will require patience. Occasionally when information is transferred from the Issues Wine Maker Tasting Note : Sustained ruby color, silky, garnet red. A very complex nose presenting aromas of small red and black fruits (raspberry, strawberry, blackcurrant, blackberry) flowers and spices. Sturdy on the palate, without losing its distinction. Solid and structured body allowing a good ageing potential. Match with game and matured cheeses. |
