Tasting Note | eRobert Parker 92/100 (2012) Neal Martin The 2012 Meursault 1er Cru Perrières has a backward, stony, chalky bouquet, nicely defined, but not open for business at the moment. The palate is fresh on the entry with kiwi fruit, Granny Smith apples and a Chablis-like austerity on the finish. It does not quite articulate the finish with total conviction, but there is a sense of class that will be more expressive with bottle age. BH 92/100 (2012) Here too there are touches of sulfur and reduction but it's not enough to completely hide the floral and white orchard fruit aromas. There is notably more volume to the equally intense but broader and intensely mineral-driven flavors that possess fine mid-palate fat along with lovely verve that continues onto the lingering, balanced, moderately dry and vibrant finish. What is interesting about the texture is that there is an almost tannic character that will require a few years to soften. Good stuff here and worth a look. |
