Tasting Note | Wine Spectator WS : 91/100 (vintage 2012) Tarragon and mâche notes lead the way, giving this a racy, herb-tinged hint, although the core relies more on yellow apple and melon rind flavors. The finish lets light brioche and blanched almond details zip through. Drink now through 2016. eRobert Parker / Wine Advocate : 86/100 (vintage 2012) Neal Martin The Caillou Blanc de Talbot displays more oak on the nose compared to the Clos Floridène: scents of lemon curd, crème fraiche and gooseberry, perhaps just a little "anonymous" in the context of a good white Bordeaux vintage. The palate is fresh on the entry with satisfactory weight, a dash of lemongrass here to liven things up. The finish is spicy and this lends it length. Jeannie Cho Lee : 84/100 (Vintage 2013) Aromatic, refreshing and lifted with a sweet apricot finish. The wine is fairly simple with a modest finish. Enjoy it young. Tasted in: Bordeaux, France. Maturity: Drink Jancis Robinson : 15.5/20 (Vintage 2013) Vegetal notes, and ripe oak sweetness too. Not sure how well that combinations sits on the palate. Seems to be lacking acid too, slightly. Richard Hemming MW Jancis Robinson : 15/20 (Vintage 2012) Tasted blind. Sweet, ripe Semillon hits the palate most forcefully. Good acidity and grip but not quite ready. Jancis Robinson |
